new or just forgotten?

I got this quote from Teresa's Blog:

"There is nothing new except what has been forgotten."
_ Marie Antoinette

Ours is the task of taking up what might have otherwise been lost. It is old, yes, and maybe a little dusty because there is "nothing new under the sun" but to us it is fresh and beautiful and we wonder how on earth it was ever lost. It may also be our task to leave behind some of the dry things that have lost meaning which have been passed down to us. We make these decisions not just for us but for our children because it is our responsibility to decide what we should pass on to them.

There are things we need to recover for them that have been lost and there are things that we should not pass on. This has been the struggle for Christians throughout church history.
