Introducing Flourish: A Journal of Progressive Ministry
Whether you’re a ministry leader, a scholar, a volunteer, a curious layperson, or simply someone passionate about young people and the future of the church, Flourish is created with you in mind. Our mission is to bring together theologians, practitioners, researchers, and artists to explore ministry that is inclusive, justice-seeking, theologically rich, and grounded in the lived experiences of young people.
I’m especially grateful to acknowledge the support we received from the Missing Voices Project at Flagler College. Their commitment to amplifying marginalized voices in youth ministry has been a crucial part of shaping this journal from the very beginning.
We’re excited to feature articles by thoughtful leaders and voices such as Andrew Root, Christian Noval, Erin Reed Cooper, and more in our launch print edition. And in our Autumn digital mini-issue, you can read insightful contributions from Yvonne Murray and Timothy Lowen-Elofson, Lenae Baldwin, and Ryan Popineu.
Our first print edition debuted at the Progressive Youth Ministry (PYM) Conference, and today marks the launch of the first of four digital mini-issues — now accessible to everyone interested.
Going forward, Flourish will be published in print once per year, complemented by quarterly digital mini-issues designed to bring fresh ideas, stories, research, and practical resources to the table throughout the year.
