In case you haven't heard, I'm a big fan of
Andrew Root and the things he's doing for theology and youth ministry. I've been enjoying
his podcast where he's been sorta talking through his little book series,
A Theological Journey Through Youth Ministry (I made
some comments on one of them... and you should read
everything Andy has written) with some pretty awesome youth workers. The most recent podcasts are noteworthy because Andy talks with Jon Wasson, a friend and neighbor of mine at Princeton Seminary, about the role of scripture in Youth Ministry. Listening in on Jon and Andy's conversation is super interesting. Check it out!

Thank you for posting this. I really appreciate this honest conversation about the tension youth ministers face when working in this balance of educating youth, encouraging parents, benefiting the church, etc. The conversation about students "knowing" the Bible versus understanding it as God's story and a meta-narrative is very helpful and voiced in a way that I've never been able to put words to well. Thank you!
