Happy Halloween quote

Happy Halloween!

I thought it best to drop a quote today so here it is:

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a
lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls
of
his cell. -C. S. Lewis

So what makes us think that this world is so doomed, that its salvation must come through some sort of replaced existence. Can the things in this world that refuse to worship God, the things that are so contrary to His character ever push out God's glory and goodness? God placed His glory upon the world in its creation, we cannot diminish it, not with a thousand evil deeds, no matter the oppression or waste or harm we do to it. The glory of God is still here and it will win over our hearts and our lives long before the darkness does. Celebrate that this Halloween, and get some candy too...

wes, excellent thoughts. reminds me of what Scot McKnight wrote recently--"holiness is not fragile so we have to protect it; holiness is powerful and we must liberate it in the world" or something to that effect.

John,
that's a great quote by Scot McKnight, I do love his writing. I will be saving that quote for sure.

Ashley,
I am excited to watch charlie brown.

Janette,
great thoughts. We can't act like God is somehow less powerful than He is.
