Settling In

Amanda and I arrived in Princeton, New Jersey just a couple of days ago and, lemme tell you, moving is time consuming. I'd love to tell you that I have a lot of good thoughts waiting to be written, but the truth is, I have thought of little other than furniture and boxes in the last few days. That being said, we are very excited about being in Princeton. We can already tell that there's a lot to like about the area. It's quite a contrast from Ramona... there's diversity, stuff to do, a mall within walking distance, and it's a more intellectual atmosphere.

I'm very excited about starting classes. It's been a while since I've been in the classroom or written anything more academic than a blog post. I'm looking forward to being challenged and to developing as a thinker and as a youth worker. I wasn't expecting to be able to take a class with Kenda Creasy Dean in my first semester here (since she's among the more popular professors at the school and I don't imagine that she often teaches "lower division" courses) but I'll be taking a youth ministry course with her this semester.

I'm sure that once I get some classes going, I'll have plenty to blog about. Look forward to it!

Glad to hear you made it safely and well! But Wes, your blog posts are often way academic - in the best sense! Have a great year!
