Pray for Our Church II

If you think of it, pray for our church (First Congregational Church of Ramona). I mentioned before that our church had found a new settled pastor to finally take us into the future of our life together. Well, we found one, met one, hired one, loved one, and just today I got word that we lost one. Through a tough year long process we found, unanimously loved, and hired a new settled pastor and unfortunately we have to start over again. The pastor we hired was supposed to start last week and has now backed out of his contract and has left our whole church family feeling a bit let down and very lost. I've never heard of this happening before but it has happened to us. I am actually quite at ease with the whole thing. I believe God is doing something big in the life of our church and that he just wants us to let go of our need to be in control before it can really come together. It's actually exciting when you look at it that way, but nevertheless our church is in for another tough season, another tough transition, and a very tough community experience. Please pray that God will give us his heart in this situation and that He will finish the work he has started in us here in our corner of Ramona.

dude, so sorry to hear about this...I've been hearing about these types of "decisions" more and more of late. I don't know what leaders are thinking to make "covenants" with bodies of followers ONLY TO LET THEM DOWN at the moment of a new journey. I'll be praying for you and your fellowship!
